PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT makes fitness fun, affordable, accessible and inclusive to help women look and feel their best and end childhood obesity. Our fitness festivals, digital content and conversation starting apparel form a “Sweat Sisterhood,” uniting women to have fun, encourage one another, flip the ingrained negative stereotypes that sweat holds, become positive role models in their homes and invest in training young health leaders nationwide to solve the problem of the obesity epidemic in the US. We’ve been featured on ABC, POPSUGAR, BET, ESSENCE and ROLLING OUT!
PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT’s descriptive and provocative brand name is so special. It stands for a big idea, and has emotional appeal. Brand authenticity and trust also set us apart in the marketplace. Our unfair advantage is that we’ve spent seven years building a brand and creating new conversations with students, young adults, and athletes over and over and over again. That relationship, partnership and marriage with our Sweat Sisterhood allowed for open communication, debate, respect, and the generation of new ideas. And when people were focused with eyes on the prize of what we could achieve together – a movement was born. At a time when the fitness world began exploding online, the mission-based brand’s focus to combat childhood obesity attracted free celebrity and influencer endorsements, corporate partners, and support from high-level female executives at some of the top companies nationwide. What we do better than anybody else is make fitness fun -- by helping women meet new friends while incorporating philanthropy into Hip-Hop culture.
I'm a self-proclaimed #TomMom of three girls (22, 9 and 7 years old), wife of a music exec for 14 years (WOW! time flies when you're having fun), and a social entrepreneur. I was born in Queens, NY, raised in Nashville, TN, built my first home in Sparta, New Jersey, and currently reside in the Atlanta, GA area. I lead business development, marketing, sales, and event execution for PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT and have been responsible for bringing on clients and partners including Adidas Women, Aquafina, Nike, Banana Republic, YMCA, Essence, Samsung and Girl Scouts of the USA.
Prior to founding Pretty Girls Sweat LLC, I thrived in the TV industry for over nine years - working my way up from an intern at ABC to a producer on Sundance Channel's celebrated, primetime series ICONOCLASTS (via @radical.media), which enabled me to work with my idol, Dr. Maya Angelou. I am a former high school athlete (track, volleyball, and basketball), a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University (Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications), and proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. In addition, I became a model for Wilhelmina in New York City after being discovered at a music industry dinner. My community efforts have been highlighted on television networks such as ABC, Centric, and BET as well as in several publications and websites including Essence, PopSugar, Huffington Post, USA Today, MadameNoire, Rolling Out and Upscale Magazine. I also co-founded the Teen Diaries Foundation in 2007 to provide virtual mentorship for female students in cities all over the nation. The organization, which has served over 20,000 multicultural women through fitness and journalism programs, has raised over $100k since becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2013. I enjoy reading inspirational books, listening to music and podcasts, comically commentating on basketball games, eating great food with friends, and enjoying the outdoors.

Being able to provide for my family, inspiring my children to pursue their passions, living a healthy lifestyle, positively influencing young women and experiencing new things as often as possible. The best part of success is achieving what you once thought was impossible, and the worst part is having to break a sweat, shed some tears, and make many mistakes to get there. But it's worth it!
