The WomanUp NetworkTampa, FL
ABOUT THE BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:Our group, WomanUp, is located here in the Tampa Bay area and hosts a chain of events including expos, seminars, classes, networking events, and conferences for at risk women and teens to improve their everyday lives by encouraging them to continue their education, secure employment, find affordable housing and healthcare, and live a self-sufficient life. The group helps encourage, inspire, and empower women all across the Bay with over 1,000 women impacted so far.
Our organization has been featured in the Huffington Post, recently highlighted at the University of South Florida for the "Girls Rock" Summit, and even more so recently on Bay News 9. We have also incorporated an amazing "no bullying program" that mentors girls ages 8-16 for absolutely free. Aside from our standard teen program, we also have an amazing program that targets teen moms to encourage them to stay in school and continue their education. We provide scholarships for them to attend free CNA training, Med Tech, and Scrub Tech classes to jump start them into the workforce. We also host an amazing podcast every Wednesday called "WomanUp Wednesdays" which feature new women in Florida every week that have had success stories to inspire her audience to don't quit!
Not only do we help those in need, but we also have made our mark by helping entrepreneurs. We hold a quarterly event called headshots & chill that's a free networking event for any up and coming entrepreneurs or those looking to start a business. At this event, they also can take headshots to help build their resume. They also have the chance to showcase their business and secure a business coach for free through our program to help create any business cards, websites, logos, marketing campaigns and securing business credit.
THE STORY:Aisha Ayana is one of the most recognizable advocates for women’s empowerment in Florida. Early on, Aisha was faced with adversity but instead of submitting to failure, she decided to not allow life to break her but to turn her pain into power. She first developed the need to give back to her community by mentoring at-risk youth. Over the years, her desire to provide positivity to the community expanded. She turned her passion into a full-time career by launching her first non-profit company targeting young women and teen moms. After an overwhelming response to the program, she once again decided to expand and reach not only young women but women of all ages. The WomanUp empire was then created.
Due to the success of WomanUp, the brand then divided into three parts- WomanUp, The WomanUp Foundation, and The WomanUp Network each carrying a different concentration but all with the same focus- to encourage, inspire, and empower. The WomanUp brand unites hundreds of women throughout Florida and holds dozens of events, seminars, and expos yearly with the goal being to develop, educate, and advocate for all women throughout Florida and bordering states. WomanUp has a full-time mentorship program, yearly bike and backpack drives for local schools, and podcasts every Wednesday that have been dubbed on social media as “WomanUp Wednesdays”.
Today, Aisha sits as the CEO of the WomanUp enterprise. She is a motivational speaker and success coach. She is also the author of the best-selling book, “I had to WomanUp”. Aisha's story is proof that anything can be accomplished in life with hard work and prayer. She has spoken at countless events, which have showcased recognizable names such as Ming Lee, April Sims, Pascale Rowe, and Karen Civil. She has used her strong, and undeniable social media presence to not only build a foundation but to change the world.
“Life is what you make it… Choose to make yours beautiful.” – Aisha Ayana
