BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:

The Holistic Beauty Collective

Atlanta, GA

ABOUT THE BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:
In an effort to restore balance, and address a void in the beauty industry that I love immensely, I created The Holistic Beauty Collective – a unique online resource committed to empowering women with the necessary tools to find joy in holistic living.  I embark upon a journey with members of the Collective, with the goal in mind to help them explore the intrinsic connection between health, beauty and wellness; to live a life with focus on looking good while living well.  I offer free pop-up challenges, quarterly mastermind courses, a monthly membership community, and one-on-one wellness coaching - all geared toward helping women learn to manifest their dream lives.

THE STORY:
“My name is Ariane, but feel free to call me Ari.”

My love affair with the beauty industry spans two decades. Makeup artistry became my “side hustle” while I pursued my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Florida A&M University. Little did I know, as I initially used my makeup artistry sideline as a means to an end, it became a creative outlet and a conduit for cultivating meaningful connections. I loved being able to connect with my clients through touch and words of affirmation, as well as supporting them in whatever they wanted to share and by offering advice. On many levels, I found that I ultimately made them feel beautiful both inside and outside.

After undergraduate school, I continued to pursue my career as a makeup artist. The birth of my daughter in 2005 and the 2008 recession awakened my entrepreneurial spirit. With a client book that was growing rapidly, I launched Pretty Girl To Go – a mobile beauty concierge that connects licensed beauty professionals with clients seeking hair, makeup, nail and massage services. Pretty Girl To Go was my way of creating beautiful experiences for my clients, all the while creating a network by providing opportunities to other artists. With my company operating successfully, I decided to set my sights on making a mark in the film and television industry.

After nine years of working behind the scenes on some of the most noted films and television series (I am currently working on Bad Boys 3), I felt compelled to acknowledge the dynamic shift that had emerged in the beauty industry. Largely because of the onset and influence of social media, it seemed that women began to aspire to emulate false images of beauty - women who don’t even look like themselves without makeup, perfect lighting, filters and airbrushing. Individuality, and embracing one’s beautiful nuances, has been traded for cookie cutter makeup applications that transform more than they enhance. With my behind-the-scenes experience, as well as my daughter’s preteen status, I recognized the need to help redirect the narrative of beauty more than ever. No longer just a conversation about blush and bronzer, beauty must be viewed from a holistic perspective. The true meaning of beauty is taking care of yourself mentally, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and yes, esthetically.

I have worked on film/tv projects such as:
Bad Boys 3
Atlanta
Pitch Perfect 3
Greenleaf
Star
The Walking Dead
Stranger Things
and many more

ACCOMPLISHMENTS / ACCOLADES / AWARDS:
In 2018, I was recognized by the Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild for outstanding contribution in Best Contemporary Makeup for a Feature Film for Pitch Perfect 3.

I have worked on over 47 film/tv projects.

I was a special guest at the 2018 Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (OWLAG) graduation ceremony in Johannesburg, South Africa.

GLOBAL FOCUS:
I would change self perception. I believe that once individuals tap into who they truly are - the divine entity that God created in His image - they are limitless. Queens and Kings walk differently, and once we realize that we are royalty, we can take over the world.

OUTLOOK:
My focus right now is to grow The Holistic Beauty Collective, and to make wellness a conversation in every single household. I want to produce resources (podcasts, books, conferences, motivational albums, tv shows, etc.) that will normalize holistic living, and demonstrate to all how attainable it is. I want to take my mission abroad and impact the world from the lens of beauty and wellness.
