BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:

Women's Empowerment Ministry

Decatur, Georgia

ABOUT THE BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:
Global Leadership Christian Center was founded by Senior Pastor Tony and First Lady – Executive Pastor, Eleshia Cash in June 2009 and is a non-denominational Christian ministry servicing the Metro Atlanta area and the world with an awesome, life-changing, spirit led, biblical teaching and worship experience. Global Leadership does church differently. We are redefining the church experience through technology, relatable messages, pure worship, building leaders, and community/outreach programs.

The Women’s Empowerment Ministry is one of the outreach programs known for empowering other women through community events, programs, and workshops. It uses it's platform to promote women-owned businesses, women in ministry, and women serving the community. We are most proud of our recent event “The 2018 Red Dress Brunch” where we hosted 200 women and honored 16 women from across the metro Atlanta area who are influential and empowering other women in their respective industries, community, and in the life of the church.

What sets us apart from other women organizations is that due to my collaborative leadership as First Lady and Executive Pastor, the women’s empowerment ministry embraces true Christ-centered relationships that are called to serve, build up other women, and strengthen the women community. We can accomplish more through unity, and that’s our empowerment motto!

THE STORY:
At Global Leadership Christian Center, we train our women to get intentionally involved in the marketplace and community in order to put faith into action. In October of 2014, we began with a Women’s Empowerment Weekend as a community outreach networking program. We hosted a series of networking events for a diverse group of women in the community to empower them to be courageous in whatever goal in life they were trying to achieve! It was called, "Moving from Comfort to Courageous.” We had a wonderful response from the community and continued to host these women empowerment programs year after year.

Research shows that confident people are more attractive to their peers, they have better jobs, are happier and more productive than their less confident counterparts. And like most other things in life, developing confidence is a practice. We wanted to help women develop confidence in their spiritual walk, their mental capacity, as well as their physical being. Our Women’s Empowerment programs challenged women to take their confidence to the next level in all three areas.

In 2018, we decided to build on that confidence by promoting women entrepreneurship and by acknowledging women that were empowering other women in their communities, respective careers, and church. The stories of these 16 women are impeccable -- the women left empowered with a new mind, new focus and new mentality.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS / ACCOLADES / AWARDS:
The Women's Empowerment Ministry is very proud of making sustaibable impact in our community. We are most proud of our 2018 Annual Red Dress Brunch initiative as it empowered women on so many different levels. We look forward in continuing to raise the profile for women who are making a difference in the lives of others!

CHILDHOOD YEARS:
Growing up I always knew that I was a leader and that I would be influential one day in my community. I just did not know how. As I began to serve in the church growing up, God gave me a heart for women’s ministry. I understood that what a woman does comes from who she believes she is. And I believed, that although I had struggles in my career, understanding how to be a wife, a mom, a daughter, a mentor, and a leader in the church, that my destiny was tied to helping other women discover their God-given purpose and talents to impact the church and the world. I call it “Intentional Evangelism.”

GLOBAL FOCUS:
Discrimination Against Women! Discrimination is the treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person based on the group, class, or category to which the person is perceived to belong rather than on individual attributes. We have made strides in this area, however, we still have a lot of work to do so our daughters and granddaughters will have the confidence in knowing that they can do anything without limitations due to their gender.
