THE STORY:
I began my career in education over 25 years ago as a teaching assistant and later became a teacher after earning my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Houston. I was a non-traditional student and graduated cum laude. I received my master’s degree of education and Ph.D. in educational administration from Prairie View A&M. I was also congratulated on receiving my Ph.D. by the House of Representatives of the Texas Legislature.

I have worked at both the elementary and secondary level as a teacher. I have been an athletic coach, district trainer, assistant principal, campus principal and was named First Year Principal of the Year and central office administrator for the nation's seventh largest school district. I was selected as a Master Teacher in Chicago Public Schools for a cohort of new principals. I have authored and coauthored a long list of educational articles and have received numerous awards.

Presently, I teach at Houston Baptist University in Educational Leadership and Higher Education. I work as a consultant and serve as CEO of Consulting Services by Dr. Michelle. Additionally,I share my expertise with others by teaching workshops, public speaking events, and serving on a range of educational committees and boards.

I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Alpha Kappa Omega Chapter and The Links, Incorporated, Texas Spring Cypress Chapter. I am happily married to Luther Fennick Jr. and together, we co-founded The Fennick Foundation. We are extremely proud of our dynamic and beautiful daughter, Terena, a Texas State University graduate. Terena Cloud and I hosted radio talk show, Candid Conversations on MJWJ. We have an adorable teacup chihuahua, Ozzy, that is certainly a member of the family.
