Issues such as Chemical Dependency, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Mental Health, Behavioral Health, overcoming obstacles, career coaching are some of the many hurdles that women encounter daily. As I have grown as a counselor I feel a calling to help an abundance of women create a better life for themselves; this is where my signature Better Me, Better Life Program derived. Gwen L. Hodrick, MA, LPC, LCDC is a therapist, an influential motivational speaker, a life coach, and a best-selling author.
THE STORY:My journey as a therapist began with completing my undergraduate degree in Psychology with a family studies minor, then pursuing my Master's degree in Professional Counseling, obtaining 2 licenses in the State of Texas, and completing my supervision hours. I am presently a doctoral student in a General Psychology program. Concurrently, my goal was to get as much experience in as many areas of therapy I could so that I would understand my strengths, and create a niche for myself and my skills set. Next I began working on building a private practice with my own space, as well as added elements of public speaking, and coaching. A few years later, Ask Coach Gwen was born and I haven't looked back since.
I currently service individual/couples/families through therapy sessions, coaching, empowerment events, and am a best-selling author.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS / ACCOLADES / AWARDS:I have received several certificates of appreciation from numerous non-profit organizations, community facilities, and other local entities for my work and service. I have also participated in multiple podcasts, radio shows, and magazine articles, highlighting my work as a therapist and speaker.
ADVICE:The best advice I have received was to not work harder than others were willing to, and that you only fail when you don't try.
RELAXATION:While educating the public on mental health, chemical dependency, and personal development are my purpose and life calling, I also adore devoting my time to giving back to the community. Outside of working to enhance the emotional and mental health of those around me, I concentrate on raising her two beautiful teenagers, and enjoy traveling and adventure.
RULES/PRINCIPLES:The most important principle I live by is to let everything I do be done in Love. That means I treat all people with respect no matter what station in life they're in.
