BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:

ABOUT THE BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:
I am a Full-Figured Model. I model fashion, hair, makeup, handbags, shoes, etc. I consider my modeling category as glam; as this is where my strength is.
My purpose in modeling is to inspire, to uplift, and to spread love and celebration to all who view my pictures, know me, or see me on the runway. My mission is to demonstrate class, elegance, style, and grace to show women and girls how to dress your body properly, looking good and feeling even better! My focus is to empower all girls and women, especially those who may dealing with issues; whether it be with their body or personal; that you can look good without breaking the bank or showing too much skin.
What sets me apart from my competitors/peers is that I am the face and owner of my brand. I am versatile in every sense of the word, and I work extremely hard to be dedicated and solid.
What makes modeling so special is that I witnessed my own transformation inside while dressing up the outside. When you are healed on the inside, the outside just becomes a natural glow that is undeniably noticeable.

THE STORY:
I began modeling four years ago, when a fellow church member who owns a full-figured consignment shop approached me about walking in her fashion show. I had no prior experience and I’ve been shy most of my life, so doing the show was a huge barrier breaker! While I had no real plans to continue to pursue modeling, I became more and more encouraged by many of other models. Feeling empowered, I attended an Ashley Stewart casting call and was selected for the Love Your Curves Tour in 2015! I was more excited and happy than I had been in a long time. This was an accomplishment for me that was so needed at that very confusing and disappointing time in my life.
Modeling was my savior. Walking in the Ashley Stewart pop-up show put me on the modeling map in Atlanta. I began to meet people, cast for shows, and learn about the industry. I’ve traveled and had some wonderful experiences, including gaining a few acting roles.
When I think about how far I’ve come over the last four years, I acknowledge that I’ve improved so much! I continue to grow and learn and I am still booked and busy, and working on ways to keep my brand fresh and set apart from the rest.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS / ACCOLADES / AWARDS:
2018 was definitely a year of proud moments and recognitions. I was a speaker at a dear friend’s birthday celebration and I was also nominated as ATL’s Hottest Full-Figured Model.

ROADBLOCKS AND CHALLENGES:
I am married and my husband and I have a son who will be graduating from college this year with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance. I was a teen mother, giving birth to my son at the age of 16. We love to travel, we love comedy, and I love my fashion!

Boy, I struggle everyday with the work, life and modeling balance. It’s difficult to handle everything, especially managing social media. I tackle any obstacles I face by talking them through, communicating with my husband and friends, pacing myself by saying ‘no’, and keeping a planner. Organization is key to overcoming challenges.

RELAXATION:
Some of my favorite ways to relax are going the beach, massage therapy, and staying at home doing absolutely nothing! The beach was significant in my childhood. It was a place for fun and family gatherings. As an adult, it is a place of release and peace. Massage therapy helps me to relax and release stress and tension. Staying home doing nothing is usually needed, as it balances me and gives me time to reflect and relax after the really busy times.
