BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:
ABOUT THE BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:I provide fun, clean entertainment through stand up comedy, and my hosting skills to any event.
My mission statement is:
Laughter is Healing; My Purpose My Passion!
THE STORY:I’ve always made people laugh. As a child, this is something that I would get in trouble for. I never equated making people laugh to being a stand-up comedian. I just knew it felt good to make them laugh. I’ve always liked being the life of the party and taking the fun to another level where everyone could have a good time.
It was not until I left teaching after 8 years, one of the parents from the school where I taught--who also was a Pastor’s wife-- asked me to come to speak to the women at her church and “make them laugh”. I did a monologue of an old lady character I used to play in church plays, then came out as Lady Q, told stories, and received my first standing ovation!
After that moment, I thought it was a one and done performance. At this time I still didn't look at what I had done as stand up comedy. However, that same night, there was a lady in the audience who had her own production company, invited me to open mic, and the rest is history.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS / ACCOLADES / AWARDS:I’ve been nominated and won both the 2014 and 2018 Award for Best Christian Comedian through The Prayze Factor’s People’s Choice Awards.
I was an Honoree for the 2019 Community Service Award through The Gospel Choice Awards.
I’ve had two international performances--Montego Bay Jamaica, and Nassau Bahamas.
I’ve also had the pleasures of performing on the Carnival Cruise Line at a Women’s Conference.
ADVICE:People who are successful, do what they are passionate about.
I try to work on my craft everyday, to become a person of great integrity, and uniqueness in what I do.
GLOBAL FOCUS:That we all display Genuine compassionate love.
When asked which is the greatest commandment, Jesus said,
“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind," before also paraphrasing a second passage; "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."
I believe if everyone displayed true love, the world would be a better place.
