BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:
Real Estate 100 Youth Foundation Inc.Los Angeles, CA
ABOUT THE BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:I am a licensed California real estate professional since 2006. It has been with great honor that my passion and purpose has led me to found the Real Estate 100 Youth Foundation; a 501(c)(3)—the nation’s first real estate focused youth development nonprofit.
Our nonprofit offers real estate internship and entrepreneur opportunities to our participants aged 14 and up. During the 2nd quarter of 2018, we brought on our first 9th-grade real estate intern, and in the past 2 years, we gifted 2 scholarships totaling $1800 to our high school senior interns from our Philadelphia chapter. The scholarship may be used towards higher education, and most significantly, towards paying for real estate courses, licensing, and/or any trade vocational training. We seek to advocate participants who may not choose to pursue a 4-year college—considering 82% of students are not attending college and the numbers who do are much smaller when they are from underrepresented groups.
Real Estate 100 Youth Foundation returns to Pennsylvania each year as part of the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers Health and Welfare Fund Programs for Teaching Conference. In 2018, we were proud to present in Atlanta, GA, for The Generational Wealth Building Conference. I have also presented at various colleges and universities on real estate, and I continue to be sought out as a guest presenter of our signature Real Estate 100 Youth workshops which introduces real estate literacy to the youth community and families nationwide.
During the Fall 2018 school year, we are on track to launch our signature real estate workshop as a 38-week curriculum in a local middle school and high school in the Los Angeles area. One of our most exciting and biggest missions yet is to include real estate literacy as part of the high school curriculum nationwide. Our tagline is “Teach the next, fix the now.”
I am the creator and host of the show “Ready, Set, REAL ESTATE!℠,” featuring all aspects and people from the real estate industry. Featuring special guest millennials, the education/entertainment platform brings real estate, real and uncut, to our listening and viewing audience with a focus on people of color in the real estate industry. It is an effort to support our nonprofit mission and documents a space and place in time that we, as a people, are partaking in one of America's greatest wealth-building industries; real estate. The intent is so that the youth of today will identify and relate to those that may walk, talk, and come from similar backgrounds to show them the possibilities that take a nontraditional road. As of May 2018, the show is now available on radio podcasts anywhere including iTunes, Google Play, Anchor FM, and Stitcher Radio.
As a real estate professional and owner of the Federal Registered Trademark SUPER AGENT®, I am widely known for my trailblazing book, “Real Estate 100: The Teen Home Buying Experience.” It is the first how-to real estate book geared towards youths. My rebranding as Super Agent® was born out of the 2008 financial/housing crisis as a way to distinguish myself as a real estate professional who is here to advocate the newbie buyer who ‘just doesn't know,’ the senior citizen who has been targeted by unscrupulous lenders/agents/contractors, the destitute property owner or heir to an estate, and the youths who are the foundation of the economic wealth and health of our communities.
I continue to develop my expertise in real estate by working with clients in the Southern California residential market. I am also sought out as an advisory council by local and national entities who are seeking to leverage real estate as part of their growth strategies.

ROADBLOCKS AND CHALLENGES:
The personal transformation I have forged in myself was born out of choosing to find strength from domestic violence. That separation in 2012 impacted my foundation and my children's lives. Since the onset of this journey of Real Estate 100, my daughter has gone missing as a runaway for 3 years and is a sex-trafficking victim.
Through family, close friends, faith, and a tunnel-vision focus I trust that if it has been ordained over my life to touch and care for the thousands of lives of other children not biologically my own; it is in like-kind that my daughter is protected and guided on her journey. I have taken the pain and words that cannot describe what I have experienced and transmuted the negativity, that at times seeks to plague me, into a positive force that will transcend people, community, and a lifetime. To this, I have found that my daughter has been one of my greatest teachers in this lifetime: I am not a possessor of people, but a conduit. All that I do, is because I live from the end.
