BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:
Women Of Integrity Inc.Hempstead , NY
ABOUT THE BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:Women Of Integrity Inc. is a non-profit organization that I created in 2010, as a way to give back to my community.
Our Mission statement:
Women Of Integrity Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is an organization of diverse women spanning various educational, racial and socio-economic backgrounds. Our aim is to support and empower girls, adolescents and women by fostering the confidence and nurturing the skills necessary to accomplish their goals, dreams and aspirations for the future. We extend our support through: volunteer service, professional mentoring programs, and community outreach events.
We are known for our annual Prom Dress Drive, Free Prom Dress Giveaway, and Prom Makeover project. We also host our annual Women In Business Networking Brunch. We partner with other local community organizations to provide and encourage empowerment in women and girls. We have been blessed to have the opportunity to work with the after-school mentoring program at a local high school. We go into the school on a weekly basis to mentor girls from the 9th to 12th grades and it is one of the most rewarding parts of our program.
In recent years WOI has become a platform for members and non-members to grow their businesses and cultivate their skills, all the while being of service to their community. I think what makes us special is that we try to provide workshops, resources, or community outreach events that highlight and address areas of need in our community. Whether we are hosting a financial education workshop, healthy living workshop, etiquette workshop, or a women’s/girls’ empowerment event, we are addressing the issues affecting our community. Our other key factor is that we support everyone, because there is enough room for us all to win.
I created Women Of Integrity Inc. 8 years ago as a way to give back to my community. At the time I created Women Of Integrity Inc., I had just gotten out of a bad relationship. I was left filled with anger, consumed with negative energy, and lacked a sense of self-worth. I knew that I had to do something to channel that negative energy into something positive, or I would continue to spiral downward. I knew that I always enjoyed giving back and loved working with young women. So, I decided that I would create a women’s group that would give back and mentor young girls. I told my friends what I wanted to do and asked for their support and they all said yes and we decided on the name Women Of Integrity. I wanted a name that would stand out, and make people want to know more about us.
Starting WOI gave me a sense of purpose and truly saved my life. I want WOI to be a support system to women and young girls in need. I want to make sure that no other woman or young girl goes through what I went through. I want our girls to know that they are beautiful, smart, and worthy. Education is key. If you work hard, success will follow. I want WOI to be the voice for the voiceless.
Nearly eight years later, we have grown into an amazing organization. We have amazing and dedicated members; without them, we couldn't do what we do. I am truly grateful for them. Because of WOI, I am a better and stronger woman. We continue to learn and grow each day and have the opportunity to make a difference and leave an impact on our community.

LOOKING BACK:I would tell my younger self to always fight for what you believe in.
Never give up
Never dull your shine for anyone or to make them look bigger than you
I am worthy of all that I desire
I am destined for greatness
Every failure is an opportunity to learn. Sometimes in life, you have to fail in order to succeed.
RULES/PRINCIPLES:I believe that giving back is one of the greatest rewards in life. If you are in a position to give back, then you should.
I believe that mentoring saves lives. You should find someone to mentor, whether personally, professionally, or spiritually.
I believe that the energy you put out in life, is what you get back. If you put out positivity, you will receive positivity.
