BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:

Fresh Lemongrass Spa LLC

Peachtree City, Georgia

ABOUT THE BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:
Fresh Lemongrass Spa LLC, located in Peachtree City, Georgia, was established in April 2013 and has continued to grow strong since its inception. We are a group of highly dedicated Licensed Massage Therapists that believe in the power of healing through therapeutic massage. We offer a wide variety of massages; however, we believe in tailoring our massages to meet the needs of each individual. We are dedicated to our clients, and in turn, they are dedicated to Fresh Lemongrass Spa LLC. Although we market through various avenues, the best type of marketing is through word of mouth. Most of our clients share the word with their friends, neighbors, church members, etc. about the wonderful and relaxing experience that we provide at our fine establishment. We love what we do and we exhibit that during our massage sessions. We pride ourselves with providing a professional massage at an affordable rate; our price point is $40.00 for a 50-minute custom massage.

THE STORY:
My journey as a Massage Therapist began when I was pregnant with my 8-year-old son. I was married and running a home-based inflatable and concession rental business. I have always believed in multiple streams of income so I enrolled in massage school. in 2005, I received my B.S. in Sociology from Georgia Southwestern State University. After I graduated from college, I immediately began working at DFCS and the Department of Juvenile Justice as a Behavioral Counselor. In 2012, I began working at a nonprofit as a Public Health Educator, while simultaneously running my Inflatable and concession rental company that I established in 2004. In 2013, I decided to retire from the inflatable business and I opened my own spa. For three years, I worked simultaneously at the nonprofit and at Fresh Lemongrass Spa, LLC. I worked seven days a week. I decided to work full time at my spa, because it had become so busy!

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade... wow that statement is so true! During those tumultuous times when my marriage fell apart, it only made me go harder. I was so hungry! I was so motivated! At this point I can say that I am an owner/operator at a very busy spa and I also have four awesome massage therapists that I have the pleasure of working with on a daily basis. God is so Awesome!

ACCOMPLISHMENTS / ACCOLADES / AWARDS:
Shortly after opening, in 2013, Fresh Lemongrass Spa, LLC was voted the Best Massage Spa in Peachtree City. Also, we have been in business for a little over five years and we keep growing and prospering. In November 2018, we will move into a larger and better location. We are so excited about these milestones and transitions!

ROADBLOCKS AND CHALLENGES:
In 2013, I was hit with a ton of bricks, my marriage fell apart and my ex-husband abandoned our family. While going through this transition I decided to retire from the inflatable business and I opened my own spa. For three years, I worked simultaneously at the nonprofit and at Fresh Lemongrass Spa, LLC; I worked 7 days a week; because of my ex-husband’s absence, I had to provide a great life for my two sons.

HEROES:
My heroes are my two sons, who are 8 and 10 and my 25-year-old nephew who I raised like a son. All three of them are being raised without their fathers, and even though they face adversity, they always motivate me and make sure I stay positive. They make me strive to be the best person that I can be!
