#MakeADifference

As we move through January, Human Trafficking Awareness Month, our focus this week is on an amazing nonprofit called Wellspring Living.  The organization has been serving survivors of childhood sexual abuse and exploitation since 2001.  They are devoted to safeguarding and empowering domestic sex trafficking victims and those at risk to develop the courage to move forward and the confidence to succeed.  Through life-giving residential and community-based programs, girls and young women are provided the opportunity to live and dream again.

Wellspring Living is preparing for the 2019 Superbowl in Atlanta, Georgia by working with Deborah Richardson and the International Human Trafficking Institute to bring awareness and action to prevent trafficking leading up to, during, and after the Super Bowl.  Atlanta is known as a major transportation hub when it comes to trafficking and activity is projected to increase during the Super Bowl.  The International Human Trafficking Institute is working with the Super Bowl Host Committee to be proactive against trafficking during this major event.

This week, Classy Living Society continues to focus on taking a UNITED STAND against Sex and Human Trafficking.  We began the week with a social media campaign to demonstrate our stand against human exploitation.  A number of CLS members took to social media, changing their profile pictures to CLS’ #EndTheDemand graphic and posting a picture wearing yellow – CLS wears yellow to #EndTheDemand!

Classy Living Society is well-known for its annual Red Dress Gala – during this awesome day of celebration, social media pages are filled with photos of ladies resplendent in red dresses.  But, have you also noticed that CLS wears yellow quite a bit?  Do you know why? Well, it’s because yellow is the color of sunshine, hope, happiness, freshness, positivity, clarity, energy, optimism, enlightenment, remembrance, intellect, honor, loyalty & joy! CLS also wears yellow to take a stand against a national and global issue we are passionate about: Sex and Human Trafficking.

January is Human Trafficking Awareness month, and each week during the month of January, CLS on the Move will shine a spotlight on amazing nonprofit organizations that are instrumental in bringing awareness to, and working hard to put an end to, sex and human trafficking all over the world.

For the members of CLS is each and every member’s honor to wear yellow to take a stand against Sex Trafficking.
