It’s graduation season…and there aren’t very many other times during the year that evoke heartwarming stories as during this time.

Take for instance, Sharonda Wilson and her son Stephan Wilson.  Sharonda was set to graduate from college on the same day as her son, Stephan – but from two different universities.  Of course, in true motherly fashion, Sharonda chose to skip her graduation ceremony to attend her son’s ceremony.  Little did she know that the President of Central Michigan University contacted the President of her school, Ferris State University, to request permission to present Sharonda with her degree.  It was a surprise to both mother and son to receive their degrees together  – click on the link below for more of the story.

Every Tuesday night the children who attend Homer Drive Elementary School in Texas get a treat – school Principal Belinda George reads them bedtime stories on Facebook Live.  She calls the sessions “Tucked in Tuesdays,” and reads a bedtime story while wearing whimsical pajamas.  What started as an initiative for the children of her school has turned viral – 14,000 viewers from across the country tune in.  CLS salutes Principal George for instilling in children the importance of literacy and a love for reading.
