ABOUT THE BUSINESS / ORGANIZATION:
Day-to-day, if I'm not solving problems for my clients, or preventing problems from happening in the first place, I'm not doing my job. As Founder and Chief Strategist of Optics Consulting, a one-stop shop for digital marketing, I work to fill the gap between dreaming and doing that exists for busy business owners, preventing them from nailing their digital marketing strategy.
Because the strategies I develop are designed to help brands elevate beyond their social media feeds, I had to reprogram myself into thinking in terms of, "What can I give or do for this person/brand/company that's going to help them grow?" Instead of thinking, "How much money can I make?" Or, "Who are they in the context of the market?" I started positioning myself as a catalyst for someone else's success story.
After years of gaining experience in Communications, ranging from Content Creation to Marketing and PR, I became an entrepreneur by accident. Earlier this year, I met with a Financial Advisor for coffee on a Monday morning, which compelled me to start sending out proposals that afternoon. By Saturday, I had my first client, and the next month, I established Optics Consulting LLC. Four months in, I've acquired more than 5 accounts and I work with a diverse pool of businesses, helping them to find solutions, reach goals, and grow beyond their feed.
One of the funniest things about my business is that though it is my first company, it the one I planned the least for. Having accepted an offer to enroll in an MBA program the fall before I was due to complete my undergraduate studies, I knew I would do something Communications related in Management, however, I did not foresee starting a company. But, I just did it. Often we think that there is a blueprint for success and that we must take certain steps before completing our goal. If there's anything I've learned about goals, or about starting your first company at the age of 22, it's that large ones simply come with no rules; and the beauty in that is not having to ask for permission. Instead of waiting for the opportunity, I created it. Now, I help business owners from all walks of life to ensure their success by investing in their digital marketing strategy.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS / ACCOLADES / AWARDS:
I celebrated obtaining five accounts in three months, as I do all the time in learning that my business is better when I do not operate from a place of lack. As a creative, this often means sharing ideas that never see the light of day. As a business owner, this often means giving information that can help you get ahead. There's no question that this can be incredibly draining if done constantly, but because I understand that I lack nothing, and I give from a place of abundance.
CHILDHOOD YEARS:Much like now, as a child I was always working on a project somewhere. Whether it was serving real food (harvested from the kitchen) at Barbie and Bratz doll tea parties or conceptualizing a music video based off of a Teen Vogue shoot, I kept myself busy with thinking and creating.
