Through our recent Charity 5K walk at Stone Mountain Park, Classy Living Society collected and donated over $1000 to the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation to further their cause in the community. Who is the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation (GFBF)?
This amazing organization partners with fire service and the burn care community by providing grants, scholarships, and training opportunities to help raise awareness about burns, fire safety and prevention. Fire departments across the State of Georgia raise funds to benefit GFBF through an annual initiative – Give Burns the Boot. Ten percent of the funds raised go back to the fire service community to support their local safety and prevention programs.
Burns leave scars you can see and some you cannot see. GFBF supports burn survivors and their loved ones – providing assistance in recovery and readjustment to life after a burn. They provide much needed help with emotional and psychosocial issues, which can sometimes be more difficult and prolonged than physical healing.
