Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that highlights the power of people and organizations to transform communities around the world. Created in 2012, Giving Tuesday is a day that brings out the good in people. It inspires hundreds of millions of us to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
This year, Classy Living Society showed support for its very own member, Karteau Saddler and her non-profit Silver Linings.
What does Silver Linings do?
Silver Lining Thrift was created from Silver Lining Special Day Service in November 2019. Our mission is to put young adults with special needs to work selling gently used items. These participants will be able to keep the store clean, fold clothes, stock shelves and learn good customer service skills.
Silver Lining wants to get those that need moderate to limited support out of the house and working if they desire. Our goal is to make the participants as independent as possible. This program will help build their confidence, self-esteem and to let them know that they are needed. Silver Lining Thrift’s hope is to be able to empower our participants with the tools needed to be as successful as can be.
