Most of us are familiar with the Salvation Army red kettles and ringing bells during the holidays – but did you know the second most popular Salvation Army holiday effort is the Angel Tree program?  Cards are placed on Christmas trees in various locations across America, outlining the needs of children at holiday time, and people wishing to donate can “adopt an angel” by purchasing the requested items.  The items are bagged/boxed according to an assigned number given to each family.

Classy Living Society volunteered at the annual Angel Tree Distribution Set-up for the Salvation Army on Saturday, December 15 in Jonesboro, Georgia.  Volunteers were charged with the task of unloading the bags and large items from several trucks and placing them on the floor in designated areas.  The hard work paid off at the end of their task, as nearly every inch of the floor was filled with bags of items for the families to pick up. It was an amazing amount of donations for families in need and Classy Living Society deems it a privilege to assist with this valuable effort each year.

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
