Today is the first day of National Volunteer Week – and Classy Living Society is kicking it off in a major way – through our Adopt-a-Room Initiative!
What is National Volunteer Week?
Established in 1974 by the nonprofit organization Points of Light, #NVW is an opportunity to celebrate the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers to tackle society’s greatest challenges, to build stronger communities and be a force that transforms the world. It’s a way to shine the light on people and causes that inspire service, recognizing and thanking volunteers who lend their time, talent and voice to make a difference in their communities. https://www.pointsoflight.org/nvw/
What is CLS’ Adopt-A-Room Initiative?
When a child is seriously ill or injured, a family’s main objective is to seek treatment so that the child is well again. Often, the right treatment facility is miles away and it may be necessary for the child to remain at the faraway facility for days, weeks or even months! That’s where Ronald McDonald House (RMH) comes in. Across the U.S., RMH provides resources to these families, including home-cooked meals, private rooms, recreation and a shoulder to lean on and more. https://rmhctampabay.org/
CLS realizes the amazing contribution RMH is making to the families it serves and is kicking off National Volunteer Week with a fundraiser to adopt a room for one year at RMH in Tampa, Florida! Our goal is to raise $5,000 to support our Adopt a Room program.
That sounds amazing! How can I help?
Kindly consider donating a gift of $25 to assist us in reaching this momentous goal. Your dollars will count toward this powerful undertaking – to help more families remain close to their child, spend more time caring for their child and less time thinking about a place to stay, food, and other resources.
Help us kick off #NVW with a bang! Please join us in reaching our goal by clicking the link below and submitting your gift. We thank you in advance for supporting our RMH Adopt a Room effort through giving.
